It’s a bank holiday weekend in the UK..and it is also Carnival time in Notting Hill!
The Notting Hill Carnival originated in 1964 and is the largest street festival in Europe. It all started as a way for Afro-Caribbean communities to celebrate their own cultures and traditions. Nowadays it takes place every August Bank Holiday weekend in the streets of London’s Notting Hill.
Carnival activities will be taking place on Sunday August 30 until Monday August 31 2015 in the area of W11, West London. The Carnival Bands will take to the roads from around 9am on Sunday 30th August 2015 and the same time on Monday 31st of August. The Carnival parade should complete its procession by 7pm.
The nearest tube stations are Notting Hill Gate, Holland Park and Ladbroke Grove.
