Top places to visit in Brighton
I have been to Brighton twice, and I must say I enjoyed it on both days, even if both times I was there only for a short period of time. The first time, I went on a day trip in Summer 2006, whilst visiting London, and the second time we went there for a couple of hours in the afternoon in March 2008 with our friends.
Here are the places I recommend visiting whilst in Brighton:
- Brighton pier is a must - and whilst there, enjoy fish & chips or an ice cream on the pier
- go for a walk along the seafront on the promenade
- spend some time on the pebble beach (there are around 614 billion pebbles on Brighton beach!)
- soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere at one of the local cafes or pubs
- go shopping - funky fashions, chic boutiques, exclusive antiques, tempting jewellery, inspirational art - you’ve got it all at Brighton!
- lots more things to do in Brighton
I recommend a visit to Brighton even if just for a day trip, as there are lots to see and do, and you can even spend a couple of hours shopping there!
And since it is not that far away from London, you can combine a day trip there when visiting London. On our first visit, that’s what we did. We booked a ticket on Megabus and it was very cheap (around £2!!) and the trip with the coach took around 2 hours, and it takes you straight to Brighton centre, close to Brighton pier.
Next time, maybe we can find cheap accommodation in Brighton, and spend a couple of nights there, to give us more time to explore Brighton and the surrounding areas ![]()
