Bonfire Nights in London

It’s over 400 years since Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators’ unsuccessful bid to blow up King James I and the Houses of Parliament. Now, each year on 5 November, the failure of the Gunpowder Plot is celebrated by letting off fireworks and burning a Guy on a bonfire.

Across London there are a number of Bonfire Night events. Following the Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday 8 November, the final event is a grand display on the Thames - this is close to where the plot was hatched in 1604.

And best of all, entrance to many events is FREE!!
