For over a hundred years, the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR) has been held on the first Sunday in November.
This annual event started as The Emancipation Run on 14 November 1896 to celebrate the raising of the speed limit for ‘light locomotives’ from four to 14 mph!
