Visit Hay-on-Wye - the town for book lovers

If, like me, you’re an avid reader, then a visit to Hay-on-Wye in Wales is a must! This town is the place to be for bookaholics, known as the town of books.

Hay-on-Wye has become world famous for its secondhand and antiquarian bookshops. Founded by Mr Richard Booth in 1961, it has become the World’s largest Secondhand and antiquarian book centre. At present there are thirty major bookshops in the town some specialising whilst others carry general stock. The larger bookshops are open 363 days a year and during the summer, stay open until late evening.

Visiting Hay-on-Wye is surely on my ‘to do’ list one day!
