Tourist Offices - your first stop when visiting a country

Even though a lot of information about the place is collected before one visits a country, it is a good idea to visit the local tourist information office. These offices are usually centrally-located, easily accessible and offer a wide range of brochures, which one can collect for free. Maps are also available from here. These brochures contain information, tips, ideas and recommendations of places to visit and what to do.

When on holiday, I always try and visit the local tourist office. I always collect loads of brochures, which I usually then take back home, for future reference. It’s not the first time that I visited the same place twice, so I always go back and refer to these brochures. At times, you don’t have time to visit all the recommended places, so you can always keep the brochures for the next visit!
